Meet Annah Kalb, the baker behind Zelie's Cakes
Welcome to Zelie's Cakes! Named after St. Zelie Martin, a Catholic saint who owned a successful lace business, my bakery combines a love for baking with a dedication to quality, creativity, and beauty.

Zelie's Cakes began as a passionate hobby I enjoyed before becoming a chemistry professor at Wabash College. While working on a PhD in chemistry at Purdue, I started baking and decorating cakes and cupcakes for my labmates' birthdays. This hobby grew into a beloved home bakery, where the focus is on creating delicious and beautifully decorated cupcakes.

My background in chemistry gives me a unique edge in baking! Just like reagents in a lab experiment, each ingredient plays a crucial role in forming the final product. From mixing the batter to baking the cupcakes, understanding the changes happening at the molecular level ensures that every cupcake turns out light and fluffy!
